What is "Golf Fitness?"

Golf fitness is a relatively new concept in golf and one we hear about more and more. It is something that the tour pros have paid attention to for years, but is not something that most amateur golfers think about.

Golf Fitness is essentially preparing your body for repetitive practice and play in an attempt to perform at your best, while preventing injuries at the same time. Your golf fitness level can greatly affect your golf scores and your game. History has taught us that golfers who do not properly prepare their body will break down in injury, especially in the back, shoulders and wrists. To prevent injuries, golfers need to understand the factors that contribute to them. To address the important aspect of Golf Fitness at Driving Force, our team of TPI Certified Pros utilize the Titliest Performance Institute (TPI) golf fitness program, which includes injury prevention, assessment and management of your golf swing.

How Driving Force Improves your Golf Fitness

At Driving Force, we utilize a team approach to improve your total golf game. Our team of golf pros, fitness pros mental coaches and medical professionals will assess each golfer, giving them the opportunity to be evaluated like PGA tour players. Factors like mobility, stability, strength, balance and endurance all influence the body's mechanics and, utilizing our physical screening process, we will identify your physical limitations, correlate these findings to your swing technique and custom design a program that will help you optimize your golf performance.

Driving Force Golf Fitness Study

Driving Force Golf is working in conjunction with Body Balance for Performance researching the body-swing connection. As a team, Driving Force Golf and Body Balance for Performance are constantly working to improve the understanding of how the body affects the golf swing. We are looking for Golf Professionals, Golfers, and Junior Golfers of all abilities and skill levels who would like to volunteer in our Golf Fitness Research to examine this relationship. This research will look at the physical causes of early hip extension (moving the pelvis towards the golf ball during the golf swing).

Our goal is to identify physical factors that are linked to pain, inconsistency, or poor performance in golf. We hope to identify factors that help golfers play golf better, longer, safer and pain free.
